Fall is Burberry Prorsum at its best

Burberry Prorsum 01

Before anything, the answer is no. I have not forgotten about Spring 2010 and I still intend to write about the collections of Hugo Boss, Neil Barrett, Z Zegna, Dunhill, Patrick Ervell, Issey Miyake, Bottega Veneta, Rick Owens, Moschino, Kenzo, Duckie Brown, Jean Paul Gaultier, Marni, Undercover, Comme des Garçons, Salvatore Ferragamo, Hermès, Rag & Bone, and many more!

But as always, time has overtaken me, but no worries.

Before anything else, let me talk about the simple and the elaborate. Ahead of its thick and opulent shearling, Burberry Prorsum presented these wonderfully hued denim shirts under its relatively simple military trenches. The small and sharp collars are spot on. The brightness of the color is expected as an accent to the season's sombre tones, but I never expected it to be as blue as clickable web links!

If it looks like raw denim, why not hem and stitch it similarly?

Epaulettes. In blue and gold.

Though the band jacket has already been overused, there's no harm in just adopting the buttons for a Chinese collared number, or a trench that can be unzipped to become a bolero.

Classics reworked with gold scales and arm segments.

Again, I am partial to this shade of blue. Beautifully belted bulky silhouette.

Still talking about the simple, affection for this show can be as slim yet as durable as the leather handles of these canvas bags.

Burberry Prorsum 08

Mustard leather! Though the look is more Prada and Hermès, the trench's cut and belting are all Burberry's.

Here we delve into the heavy stuff. Black, double breasted, and heavy as shearling.

Burberry Prorsum 10

Double collared. Single- or double-lined.

There is no simultaneously regal and casual way to resist the cold. But all in all, I was hoping for more blue and mustard!

while there are some strong pieces in this collection, i gotta say Burberry Prorsum is still a distant shadow of what Alexandre Plokhov's Cloak.. especially when compared to Cloak's AW04 and AW05 collections. Both collection take inspiration from military uniforms, but I've always found Prorsum to be a letdown. In any case, good to see a blog from a fellow pinoy!
