Sale steals from Oki-Ni, part 1

Sale season is nearly over. If I were you, I wouldn't wait the last minute – even if, sometimes, waiting for the furthest further reductions has its rewards – to do your bargain hunting through Spring 2014's best pieces. So now is the best opportunity for me to suggest some looks put together from the tastiest items still on the racks of well-edited online retailers. First among them being Oki-Ni.

Well-dressed men know the most noticeable things in what they wearing are their jackets and their shoes. No way but up with this Jonathan Saunders Red Marshal Jacket (NOW £186 from £620) in stark red and black diagonals that are nothing but stacked chevrons – turned the right way up, of course. Pair it with a Jil Sander White Beata Slim Shirt (NOW £95 from £190) and you're ready to go.

But do add some personality and edge with this chunky Maison Martin Margiela 11 Identity Bracelet (NOW £189 from £315), which you'll discover has a neat clasp.

Keep things prim, proper, and the just the right amount of shiny with a Maison Martin Margiela 11 Leather Messenger Bag (NOW £558 from £930) and an oh so delectable four-tasseled pair of Mr. Hare Genet Loafers (NOW £200 from £445).

The next jacket has less of an impact – only from afar that is. Rely on this Raf Simons x Fred Perry Geometric Twill Harrington (NOW £146 from £325) for intellectually preppy.

On the left is the detail of the anchor-and-rope print. On the right is a plain colored Veja Camel Cabas Canvas Tote Bag (NOW £33 from £55) to balance things with what is practical.

Which brings us to more necessary accessories, such as this Nixon Rover II Green Surplus Watch (NOW £109 from £145) to keep track of the time without the fuss. And a pair of G12 Pentacolour Black Sunglasses (NOW £74 from £105) to protect the eyes.

To protect from the cold and the onslaught of unpredictable weather are a White Mountaineering Herringbone Pattern Scarf (NOW £103 from £257) and  Maison Martin Margiela 22 Brown Marble Sole Leather Boots (NOW £257 from £642). Practically stylish, I would say!

The last look from this first installment would surely appeal to the geek in you, starting with the hypnotizing topography of Christopher Kane's Black Digital Face Hoodie (NOW £150 from £300) and a deceptively plain Jil Sander White Textured Polo Shirt (NOW £125 from £250).

Deceptive because the side vents have mutated into amputated sleeves. A big bag is also what you need for all your devices, such as this Maison Martin Margiela 11 Black Leather Tote (NOW £534 from £890).

Match the hoodie with a tangerine Nixon Time Teller P Neon Wrist Watch (NOW £49 from £65) and keep your monetary cookies inside this hairy Rick Owens Hair on Leather Zipped Wallet (NOW £147 from £184).

Lastly, your top-secret research and readings protected with this DSquared2 iPad Case (NOW £20 from £66) while staying cool and trendy as you run after the latest inventions in these Purified x George Cox Patent Snake Creeper 1 Shoes (NOW £169 from £375).

Now wasn't that fun? Stay tuned for the next installment!
