Summer stripes and espadrilles

So here we go. The third day of the third month of the year, which am not really sure why people here in the tropics are welcoming as the harbinger of summer.

Don’t get me wrong: I’d use any excuse to dust off and bring out my espadrilles in celebration of the warmer months.

Not that the noon soon is any less hot here.

Or that offices have airconditioning at less than blizzard levels.

Yes, summer is an occasion to show off more skin.

But I’m not exactly looking forward to the humidity of early afternoons.

What I do have in mind is the beach: the sun smiling on the waves.

My feet shoeless on fine sand.

But that’s enough of daydreaming. I can already smell the breakfast sausage cooking in the kitchen, and the coffee is calling my name.
